RICCARDO MUTI INVITES THE YOUNG CONDUCTORS OF “HIS” ACADEMY
TO TAKE HIS PLACE FOR NABUCCO

Due to health reasons, Maestro will not be able to conductor Orchestra Cherubini in the concerts at Teatro Galli in Rimini and Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna.

Riccardo Muti, following a diagnosis of pneumonia which excluded a Covid-19 infection, has unfortunately  had to renounce his concerts for Sagra Musicale Malatestiana and Ravenna Festival. Nevertheless he transformed them into an occasion for the young conductors he accompanied in the discovery of Verdi’s score – the musicians he has recently guided in the rehearsing journey of the 7th Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy just ended in Fondazione Prada in Milan – to take his place on the podium of “his” Orchestra Cherubini for a selection of pieces from Nabucco in the concerts planned at Teatro Galli in Rimini on Saturday, 18th December and at Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna on Monday, 20th.

Giuseppe Famularo is 30, born in Sicily, where he got Piano Diploma in Palermo, he studied as a conductor in Milan. 25 y.o. Henry Kennedy has recently graduated at the Royal Academy of Music in London and CJ Wu, 35 from Taiwan, devoted herself to violin before studying conducting in Manchester, while it is in Vienna that 23 y.o. Moldovian Cristian Spătaru, who is also a composer, completed his studies: these are the four young conductors who will  alternate on the podium in Rimini and Ravenna.
Next to the Cherubini there will be Coro Cremona Antiqua prepared by Maestro Antonio Greco and a vocal cast including: Serban Vasile as Nabucco, Gabriëlle Mouhlen and Francesca di Sauro respectively as Abigaille and Fenena, Azer Zada (Ismaele), Riccardo Zanellato (Zaccaria), Giacomo Leone (Abdallo), Vittoria Magnarello (Anna) and Andrea Vittorio De Campo (Il Gran Sacerdote di Belo).
